Aggravation, torment, harassment and virtually all other “cursed” terms which are considered pessimistic by every other individual in the community are enforced upon women. Women are deliberated as the most affectionate mortals on Earth who are being targeted by the male supremacy. The stifling atmosphere created by this society has compelled many women to speak for their rights and drive marches like “Aurat March” in Pakistan. This society however, creates a very suffocating environment for both the genders, but women are more prone to become victims of gender inequality.
Young girls in rural areas are cramped within the chores and other household errands. Consequently, their future is neglected. Parents refrain from sending their daughters to school because either they cannot afford or the fear of losing their daughter is too overwhelming. A woman in our society is entitled as a “home maker”, and is confined within the house. She is expected to follow the strict gender roles that are imposed on her by the society. She has to undergo various prejudices to pursue her ambitions.
Even after all the discrimination, if a woman in this society determines to follow her dreams and dares to work outside the house, she tends to suffer from harassment at workplaces. In spite of facing intimidation to such a great extent, she still fails to acquire the deserving amount of money. A woman in Pakistan is impotent to wander around the streets. Creepy observations, demoralizing statements and more.
According to a report published in The Nation, approximately 65% of the women have been victimized by an acid attack. These are the despairing women who are refrained from speaking for their rights. These women have nothing but to wait for the time when they would get the liberty to live their own life.

“Being a woman is hard work- Maya Angelou” Due to patriarchal mindset of our society, gender discrimination between men and women has been prevailing for a long time. To take the initiative of causing a change, we first have to start by changing our own mindsets. Innocent girls who have no future are in a dire need of our help. It’s time that we raise our voices to support the desperate women. Women should be privileged to live the lives they desire to. They need a safe and a favorable environment to work in. Basic education should be provided to young girls as it would ultimately bring a positive change in the society. It’s finally time that we change our rearward thinking and start civilizing our youth to regard the opposite gender. These are petty deeds we all can do to make this world a better place!
