Bangladeshi suppliers were penalized (punished and had to give money) for shipment delays. Keep in mind this is during the Covid-19 pandemic where it got much harder to distribute safely!
Buyers (big/celebrity owned companies) delayed their payments for completed orders.
Buyers began to abruptly cancel future orders, breaking their obligations stated in their contracts.
The lives of 4.1 million Bangladeshi garment factory workers are being exploited right now by your favourite fashion brands and celebrities.
Below, you will see the brands/celebrities who still have to #PAYUP. We will also update it everytime a company agrees to pay their Bangladeshi workers! YOUR VOICE AND ACTIVISM REALLY DOES WORK! (Scroll down to see if you're on a phone or ipad!)
Comment on their instagrams, twitter and email, urging them to pay for all orders completed and are in production. Be careful though! They are being sneaky with their wording. They are asking suppliers to keep quiet about the cancelled orders and unfair discounts that brands have forced on them.
It is only considered a full PAYUP if they pay the garment workers the full price and enough for their living wage.
